i hear you. its the best. if you've only got 40m-hour to play with and/or your cars on a meter pop in the club and take the black and white and away you go.
you'll transform your game and the way you see the scoring end of the table within a couple of weeks if you did this one for an hour a day

It is all about getting an angle, be it stun of the top cushion, screw with side of the 2 cushions, top to bounce on the other side, possibilities are endless. Even when you are straight what you should do is either try to force it like j6 suggests or just simply screw back of the cushion so you are on a nice angle again. Try to do it and then you understand what they mean when they say that Ronnies game is an art. I do not know if that is what he does but I would expect all his shots to be a mix of a pace, spot on the white in all axes, acceleration or lack of it, punch or smoothly through. It is like a trance when you can get it right. You can just feel what to do to get where you want to be.
I have maybe spend about 30h over 2 years on it. Mostly because my potting wasn't reliable. Once your potting is better than it is the routine to do. It is the big one. When you get the hang of it everything opens up and when you are on the brake in a frame you just clock around that area again but with reds this time leaving yourself nice angles on the black and you simply fancy those shots because you have perfected them on the black routine. Just give it a go and see your game being taken onto the next level.
Cheers

I myself when I land straight I allow myself one screw back and then I will screw back by potting slightly to one side of the pocket, this will create an angle even if it is slightly then I can either screw back again creating a larger angle or run through off 2 cushionsLast edited by alabadi; 10 February 2015, 12:43 PM.

I guess a better player will run more.
However I think in order to really appreciate the routine it is better to focus on the possibilities around the black first. See what sort of angles you get from hitting very top, very bottom and in betweens from different positions. It will show you where you just need that touch of side to be able to get where you want as sometimes you are just to high or to straight. I have done just that yesterday and enjoyed it a lot. I have found out that a high black with a bit more screw and side is a lovely shot of 2 cushions back to where I was and it seems so easy when you are cuing well. I was also surprised that the adjustment for side takes care for itself and is automatic. Same with follow through, I would just set the same shot for about 20 times and see what is possible with an off straight black. Wasn't really trying to make as many as I could. I just tried to discover the options. If I was you and had the time and the table I would just do that first and at the end of the practice try 10 x to do as many as possible. Note that Ted did not give you a number. He knows this routine is a mine of knowledge. Use it.

well it could of missed on 99 and that might be just as frustrating.. iv spent hundreds of hrs on this and remember how it was when i started. it shouldn't take long till you can run 10 with ease.
if you can do 15red line then no reason why you can't do standard 10blacks
