I can understand that. I haven't done the black or pink routines for years now and especially considering the black I miss very few off the spot no matter where the cueball is (within reason) and my real problem is cueball control these days (probably always was anyway).

I would think your table would be extremely tough to run blacks off the spot as it is soooooo fast. One little twitch and you are up at the blue spot. When does the new cloth go on? Going to watch Cliff play Allan today. The grinder against a potter on a big bucket table, should be interesting.

The faster the better, coz then you can stun on and off the top cushion easier.

Well I am out of here, time to go watch some guys that know how to play this game. Just spent an hour n half and my best was 12. So far I have clocked 15 hours into Blacks off the spot since Sunday. I noticed this morning my shape is really not that bad. I miss a lot of easy shots either to bad cueing, concentration or getting up on the shot before I have even finished my shot. I will post a video tomorrow morning so you can tear me apart because I need it other then this big long stroke that TD keeps harping about because it ain't going to happen.

You make the game look so easy. How I wish I had of taken this game up when I was a kid instead of 50. Oh well I will just keep working at it.

To be honest, watching that back now is a bit cringe worthy...

It was before I had my own table and right after my second major knee surgery... I can see that I'm being really lazy with my approach and as a result I'm overcompensating with the wrist on the follow through a touch more than usual...

Still, the lineout's a doddle... can't read too much into it...

There's a video of me making a maximum on the lineout on the cue club forum and I am looking for it now.

I think that's what frustrates J6... The game is easy... once you put in the constructive hours doing the simple things over and over again it becomes repetition...

I might act a touch pious at times and look beyond the importance of these routines... But when I was 14/15/16 I guarantee... if I was a member on this forum and had someone like J6 encouraging me with a (prove me wrong, tough love way) I'd be double the player I am today.

No doubt in my mind...

I really do wish I could give the game more attention now to improve... But my life is very complicated unfortunately... As a result, snooker depresses me more often than I receive joy from it...

One thing's for sure... My lad will have a decent mentor
