      • That's a nice snooker room you've got Potr, do you have an extension on the back of the house?
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

Yes it does look great. Great room to go with a great stroke. I have half the formula and you all know I have a great room so now you know the rest of the story... my video is uploading but with no cable a 15 minute video can take a while. It is ugly, I lost track of how many I actually made in a row because I kept restating.

Thanks pal. Yes, an extension on the back.

I Just watched the video back and made notes.

6:00 - white rolls off before it hits the object ball... no idea why?
8:35 - Running side, two cushions.
12:35 - Running side, two cushions.
12:48 - Touch of check side to hold cueball straightish.
13:40 - Really poor shot, entirely down to me... just threw a quick one in and it cost me the visit.
13:48 - ... coz I had to force the stun run following the poor shot, got a poor contact and left me needing to rescue.
14:12 - running side... Was hoping to have it 4 cushions including the bottom but didn't quite hit it enough...

Final shot you see I elected the 4 cushions using the side instead of the bottom... missed the pot

Thank a nice little Propane wood stove. Just makes my Snooker room cozy.

                  • Les:

Try using the top cushion right from the start and just roll through with no stun or side until it becomes necessary. So a 3/4 black to start with and if you hit it the right power you'll have another 3/4 black from the other side. You don't seem to be playing for that sweet area I told you about between black and pink level but off the side cushion.

Thanks Terry I will try that. I am really struggling with this challenge. If I find time this coming week I want to come up and go through the routines with you. Watch me work through them and see what I am doing. When I am just banging balls in everything flows so fluently even my back swing is much better. The minute I put pressure on myself example challenge, game or match everything goes stiff like. I need to put a video up of me just potting balls and playing around. Whole different person compared to the video I posted above.

                        • Too much cue over the bridge, nothing left to push through

You got that right. Like I said the minute it means something everything changes. If I put a price of chalk beside the CB my tip would finish on the bridge hand side. Just a jerky stroke.

Yea another problem I have. TD has told me about it time and time again but I think my arm has a lot do do with it. I found if I use the little 53" cue that TD Made me for a couple tight areas I can have about 12" out front.

                              • Hi Les

I have been looking through this post and I think it's great what you are trying to do and encourage others in their practise routines in order to improve. However, and I hope you understand I am trying to be honest and help here, until you learn to draw the cue back smoothly most of the way back to the bridge, pause and follow through the cue ball, no routines in the world will ever improve your consistency. Your standard some days might be okay, but in terms of overall consistency, there will be no sustainable progress. Forget all the routines for now, every one, and learn to get your stroke right first. With the amount of dedication you clearly have for the game, I'm sure you can do it. Trust me, there is no other way if you are serious about consistent improvement.
