  • I would try cutting down on your practice but put it into a routine - you have the luxury of your own table so do say just one or two hours a night -

One hour must be focused - the other relax and enjoy yourself works on things and have a laugh - snooker is fun - if you make it too much of an effort you can switch off or go off it - your not after turning pro you just trying to get better - you seem an all or nothing kind of guy but it might go better for you when you turn the snooker room light off go upstairs and switch off from snooker and focus a routine around doing it.

Try and create habits in practice methodology like this and stick to routines of practice on the table and routines off it.

Which do you think is better Les? - think about it - one hour of focused practice - or four hours of knocking balls around?

Anyway - I leave this thread now and good luck Les - I tried my best - Motivation is a two way street but not much in the way of traffic coming back the other way and I do understand don't worry - lots of voices saying do this and that - you listen to what you think is best.

      • Terry is your coach Les, just listen to him and him alone or you'll go mad.
To many cooks spoil the broth.
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

Good one Geordie, just finished a game against myself. It was a real even match....LOL I am taking my coaches guidance. Do the challenges for warm ups then play real tough against myself, I use my Snooker stats on my iPad which keeps track of all stats. I had 100% safety with one and 88% with other. Ran all the colours but the black which was on the rail. Positional was 66% with one and 62% with the other. Long pots 0-5 and 3-5 this might build my confidence.

                        • Just a little off topic to lighten up a day that was real bad and then has come around. Graham "The Snooker Warrior" is building me my own custom case. Check it out. When you are a player like me you have to have a custom case.....

That's fantastic, I tried it 4 times last night and managed two misses twice. Did not try it today but I will tomorrow. Good excessive but a lot of setup so you want to do well so you don't have balls all over the place.
