One thing I have really noticed how this game comes and goes and to manage your mental attitude. A week ago I was walking through the challenges with not much trouble then last week I started having troubles and could not complete any challenge. I would normally get down on myself and get frustrated which would make it even worse. This time I took a step back and said to myself okay a week ago I was getting through these challenges and if I just keep my attitude positive it will come back. Last night I went through the T & 4 Red with Black or Pink challenges within five attempts each. I realize I will never play perfect every time.

          • WEEK SEVEN: 6 reds, make a break!

Your mission this week is to make the highest break you can.

Put all the colours on their spots, Place six reds in a triangle below the pink, but leave a bit of a gap from the pink so you don't tie the pink up. Then place the White anywhere you like and hit the White into the reds to split them open randomly. Don't play it too hard or you'll knock reds onto the cushion. Once they have split, you can pick the White back up and place it where you like to start and then, try and make the best break you can!

Good challenge for break building as suggested by Leo.

            Good luck everybody.

Good One Ted, I have a a couple hours tonight so I will give it a crack. It will be interesting to see the breaks that get posted. Good Luck Everyone.
Thanks Ted for keeping the Challenges going. You will find this interesting. I build custom homes and work to a strict schedule but one week with no challenge and I found myself not really working on anything, possibly the reason for my poor play last week as I must loose focus on my task at hand. Tonight I am back on a strict routine.

                • Thanks Les for this thread. I went down the snooker club for the first time in a while and tried the 4 reds between the pink and black. I think my best was 3 reds and 3 colours but I felt like it was improving my positional play. My best break is 28, but I hope one day to make a 50. That would be an amazing feeling to make a 50. I really need to practice consistently though, I've only played a handful of times over the last year.

I am glad you are enjoying it. Ted started this thread for me as I was having trouble sticking to proper practicing. Just follow along and you will improve.

                    • Well here is my best so far. 24 ,one Pink two Blacks and an extra Red. I had a few 24's but seemed to loose position to a bad shot or bad luck.

                      • Remember you can pick the white up and put it where you like after the split Les. You don't have to play from where the white lands. Split them, then pick the White up and put it in the best place you think to start. Do exactly what you did basically, except after the split, start from wherever you like.
