  • The Les Edwards Snooker Challenge Thread

I was trying to defuse a shouting match with a bit of smut...

Apologies DandyA, I meant no offense... Rest assured, I also post some things that can be considered constructive...

Love and peace to you x

Hmm, players who cue this reliably in matches not only score high breaks, but also pot pressure balls, beat players better than themselves...i.e. win tournaments. Note that I said in matches.
If I were you, I'd try to play in every pro-am possible.

You've spent too much time with wood shavings and saw dust...

I'm not consistent enough yet. although I can pot most shots on a table, I need to consistently get better. I have started playing better players than me, just to test myself against them.

I'm still not scoring high enough to have a realistic chance of beating them, however I am improving and can nick the odd frame or two.

It doesn't matter because you need to play competitions to improve, there's many a player who can pot for fun on their own but capitulate when it matters, the sooner you start playing them the sooner you will settle and improve
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

I have been playing in our tournaments for the past two seasons and getting whipped everytime. Ted started the challenges which I have been sticking to everyday plus playing competitive games against myself. My last tournament which was a week ago I won my first match. I still have a lot of work to do but I now can see that I am improving.

              • Had a go at this week's challenge this morning...

I took 5 blacks, 1 brown and missed the blue trying to go around the table for the pink... I was being unnecessarily flash

I guess kind of a walk in the park challenge for you. I managed my little 24 and hope to get on my table this afternoon for a couple hours. Tried yesterday but no concentration as I had a customer I am building a house for flipping out and texting n calling me causing all kinds of problems. Tried the colours and could not get by the green as I was furious with this guy. Figured I better just put things away and walk away from my table.

                    • I hear that...

I've said it a lot, but it really is my mood and energy levels which play the most important part in how I play.
