    Take it easy Les ;-)

Try starting the session from cueing exercises first, then challenges:-)

I was cuing well today it was my second attempt at this one.

Started the session from long blues. Working on slow backswing and keeping still. Banged about 40% in so not to bad for me.
Then 15 reds, made 28 on first attempt only missing a sitter (lack of concentration and feeling that I am across but not getting up) was thinking on putting back the next 15 and clocking again as I had 2 left, black spot and above and was straight on the higher one so cannot get easier :-)

Then the challenge and bang up to the brown taking them like on eurosport solving the problem ones first.

    The routines work.

    Cheers

i started playing 4-5 years ago but wasn't really serious once a week. i had my first coaching session in 2011, this is when i wanted to take it more serious

Ah ok mate I see. I must say the amount you've come on this last year is amazing. You look way more comfortable in the exercises these days.

        • Just wondered if anyone has any contact with ITSNOTSOEASY got a feeling he might've left the forum. Be a real shame if he has as he was a decent poster.

Would be a shame. Maybe he has become fed up with the way the forum is going. Cant blame him, bit of a clique sometimes

I don't wanna sound like a spoil sport (but I'm going to). In the first video you were way closer to the object ball than the shot we're talking about. And in the second video you managed 0/3. Like I say, I don't wanna sound horrible because you hit that shot a lot better than I could. But I did think 8/10 would be good going lol.

And in the first vid you did 2/13 with the White closer which is an easier shot.
Yea you're definitely right, Didn't really scratch like I claimed in the video but believe me when I tell you Its a lot easier on faster cloth at the club. Will post an update video next time I head down there, seem to be able to sink the white a lot more consistently there. Cheers

Might be the reason TBH. but as you say a real shame if he doesn't come back as he was always polite enough and a keen snooker entusiast.

Thanks dude, and I unno....what do you suggest? I think my weakness lies in break building...Ive practiced the line up drills more times than I care to remember and it has helped slightly but I don't think I'm improving in break building too much. Always make that one careless shot and I'm out of position....then its 50/50, I either recover nicely or I fold the whole break and get really frustrated.

Ted how come this game comes and goes so quick. I am lucky if I get a week where I have this positive attitude and think I own the table and then it's gone like the snap of you finger. Please tell me this will get better and there will be more good days then bad. Been doing the latest challenge for the past hour and the best is 3 pinks (21). Just cannot get that positive feel I had a couple weeks ago.
Now that you mention I have not seen him on here. I hope he has not disappeared, great guy and always great posts.

The best and most appropriate username there is. He shouldn't be going anywhere, wise old bird.

I was just reading your post again....LOL I AM IN DREAM LAND. 29 Reds I have probably tried that challenge a million times and my best is still one miss. Just worked on the latest challenge 3 Pinks after an hour and half. No concentration sugar is all out of wack should be 6.0 and before diner it was 18.3

                        • I feel for you but I have astigmatism in one of the eyes and it is the double one.

I started the 15 reds when J6 started banging on about it. It was hard at the beginning and still is when you cue badly. It teaches easy shots played well as well as concentration and precise planning and execution when pressure is on at the end. My advice is start with cueing exercise then go for 15 reds trying to cue the same way. Take each shot the same, if you feel is is not a 100 percent get up. I use this exercise to practice pre shot routine. Very easy to get annoyed and start rushing in and missing easy balls. Slow controlled backswing and while keeping still deliver smoothly is the thing at the moment for me.

It never goes away really, Les. All that happens is you get better. The last two days I've felt absolutely terrible playing my mate, but I've still had 60 breaks because my level is just generally pretty good. Some days I feel like I'm never gonna miss, other days I feel like every ball is hard work.

I don't think I have ever come across something that is so frustrating. I guess it is all a learning curve. I guess with only had a snooker cue in my hand for that past two years I am going to have more bad days then good. I can go golfing and just not hitting it good but I can still scrape it around close to par but I have had a club in my hand since I was eleven.
I did have one break where I missed my last red which I will post when I am done if I don't beat it. I am going down to beat it now.
