Right, so very close to a clearance, and still a nice 50 break.

But what went wrong, Les? Why did you have a long blue? Was it the brown that was a bad shot? Or the green that didn't leave you nice on the brown to get on the blue good?

Best thing you can do is stay level headed. Don't get too low when it's bad and don't get too high when it's going good. Aim to be consistent. Enjoy the game more, laugh at mistakes and concentrate on the next shot, you can't do anything about the previous shot so don't worry about it.

From the yellow I left a slight angle on the green then left the brown just off dead in but if I screw back I am going the wrong way so I played with tops to play it in the corner and missed. But I hate to say this but my second best was 16. How does that figure?

          Cheers Ricky
well so far its made me more confident, my short game is getting better, my long game isn't as good but still improving, i just need to get some more practice in to figure out a way to fit the adjustment to these shots as its a bit harder finding the line over 8 foot +

Yes you are right stay calm and have fun. I am back to half hour for the challenge and then onto play tough matches against myself. Ran a couple mid 30 breaks tonight. I have a tournament on Saturday and then Terry and I are running our tournament the following Saturday & Sunday.

            • Hi guys took a couple days off from Snooker as I came up with this brilliant idea I would build a One Peice Snooker Case for my 1 pc GBL. I attached some photos.
Now back to my game I had a friend over tonight for a few games, now the last time he was here was before Christmas and be beat 5-0 and I think most of them where done before the colours but different story tonight he won 3-2 and the games I lost where still close. My high break was 22 but just played solid and smart. When we finished he said he could not believe the improvement since the last time we played. Back to the challenge tomorrow.

                • you made that case Les in a couple of days, that's impressive. I've been trying to make one for the last 6 months.

just can't find enough time to focus on it, with work and snooker practice

Yea the only issue was trying to get that material stretched around the corners. I figured out to late but I am going to build another one in a couple weeks but this time I am going to pure leather and sew it and make a patch work one. Today I am back to my challenges. I really felt good last night when my buddy said I have really improved.

                      • Well still no total clearance on latest challenge but give me time and I will do it. I was just down practising for our tournament tomorrow. Worked in the T and four reds with pink or black. I now use these two for a confidence builder. I see how many times I can run them. We will see how it goes tomorrow.

                        • Good stuff Les. Good luck tomorrow and remember, you know you're capable of potting 3 or 4 or 5 reds around the pink and black spots, so be confident and hit the ball well.

Thanks Ted you hit the nail on the head. I played five games against my son today and played very average not making more then a couple balls at a time. After he left I went at the two chalkenges until I boosted up my confidence. First thing I noticed doing the challenges compared to playing as I was rolling the ball during are games instead of hitting them.

                            • Mr Edwards.... be truthful old spoon how many hours do you actually average a week practising on your table?
Are you a spend the odd hour in the day when you have time and normally pack up after a while when you're bored and frustrated player or are you a dedicated player that will have set times and won't leave the table until you've put the hours in?

I spend hour upon hour , never bored sometimes frustrated. For example this week Monday evening 2 hours, Tuesday nothing as I built my case, Wednesday 4 hour match, Thursday 4 hours of practice during the day & Friday 4 hour match then 2 hours of practice. Not all weeks are the same but I get at least 2 hours in each day. I love this game.
I also spend a half hour after I finish and I wipe each ball down with a damp cloth polish and put away then my table gets brushed blocked and sometimes ironed then I wipe down the wood on the rails so they are clean and no finger prints. Then once a week I take the vacuum with the horse hair attachment and I vacuum all the sides and legs on the table. I spend hours down there.
