    • That's great Les, it must be gratifying to see some progress. I had some practice on saturday, my first for a few weeks. I was seeing the ball and pockets a lot better, and definitely started to pot better with more authority......still a bit ropey and over working my position. Still, i managed 8 reds on the line up, which is pretty good for me.

Still no clearance, so there is no point me actually doing it. Apparently.

Yes there is. I find its all about concentration. To be honest I started at 8:30 and at 9:15 the best I had accomplished was 3 reds. Took a break and asked myself why. Simple not concentrating and looking for my next couple of shots. I have come to realize I am actually not bad at seeing the angles to make pots but when you leave yourself so far out of position two or three times in a row even Ronnie could not get me back in the game....

It's the big revelation that I've had, that I think I need to get to grips with to improve. I used to be proud of my cue power, and how I could move the ball about. I've done a lot of things to try to move the white a lot less so that I never need to. The big part is the thought process, knowing the angles, judging the pace...I've got a long way to go, but I think there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I very much admire your willingness to expose yourself to scrutiny, and to take the good and bad thrown at you with equal grace. That's a sportsman, that is...and I like to see your improvement and enjoyment in the game.

I hope so, that's some great potting with great shape. I think you could play the same with a house cue off the rack... I will continue to work at it,

Nice videos mate. On selfy 3, at 5:45 is it me or did the white slow down majorly fast to stay on the black after the red was potted? You even had topspin on it!

                  Nevertheless, nice potting.

Yea kind of looks like some of the dungeons up here. I am spoiled, mine is like playing at the Star Academy or close. Just wish I had designed the room a foot wider. My Sons new room is going to be perfect, 6'6" around all sides of both tables. Now he is really spoiled.

Great technique j6, I like how still you keep your head every time but yea was gonna say that table is incredibly slow.

You're right what you say about leaving yourself open to scrutiny, i was going to post one myself but the stick Leslie's had recently put me right off
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

Come on Geordie, post a video so everyone can rip you apart... I have posted some real crackers over the past year and took some hard shots from some guys but it has just made me tougher.
On another note played our little three game Tuesday night match winning all three easily but no big breaks tonight but a lot of mid 20's and a 31. Back to the line up tomorrow night.

                            • GeordieDS,

You can ignore the trolls on here if you are looking for help. Unfortunately these forums will always have keyboard warriors trying to put you down for their own gratification. It's a sad existence but it happens. Just sit back and laugh at it and treat them for the melons they are.

As you know there is some great advice on here from knowledgable people who have helped Les a lot. They can do the same for you.
If not pick a couple of people out and PM them. I'm sure they will be glad to help.

                              All the best
