I thought I would give you guys a little update, I played in our tournament yesterday loosing my first match but instead of my usual 3-0 it was 3-2 and the kicker I was up two. I came out with a very positive outlet as I potted a lot of very good solid shots. Terry was playing right beside me and he commented after the match that I looked like a different person from our last tournament. I have been working hard on the line up and actually cleared 13 reds getting a real bad kick on my 13th red leaving the cue ball dead Center of the table with no shot at a colour. Next is a total clearance if the reds then a total clearance. I will get there.

I went down stairs tonight to practice. I started with running the CB up and down the spots. I hit the tip of my cue about 95% of the time. Then I scattered the balls with colours on the spots and after a half hour 15 was my high. Then I thought I would run the colours and after 15 attempts I never got by the brown ball. I put everything away before I lost my temper and did something I would regret. Could be just the work load I have on my shoulders but I have no concentration, patience or confidence. I played Terry in the first round of our tournament on the weekend. I had a high break of 9 and I am not sure if I even made a colour. I remember making a brown and cue ball in the side at the same time. All three games where over before the colours. I think I have been told on here maybe this game is not for me and I am starting to think that way." Practice to improve not just to waste time "

Most pros are vertical.
(It would mean holding the cue NOT on the end of the butt which will feel very different)
Add a bit more weight onto your left elbow to anchor you down on the shot more.
Widening the left foot a couple of inches may make that easier.
This anchored elbow would help eliminate the slight head lift you have on delivery.
Overall, a nice tempo, set up position, pre shot routine and backswing.Improving Your Game, From Every Angle: The Snooker Gym

No reason to give up the game you love, just accept your current level and work on improving it slowly as you seem to find it difficult to learn.

It could either be technique, temperament, or practice approach/attitude.
If you have iphone or ipad you could download the free app I have made this year which has a huge amount of free tips on how to manage your practice.

If you were getting angry, it is a sure sign you were practicing something too advanced - break it down to clearing up from the brown, then from the yellow, then from 2 reds left etc etc.
3 chances on each, and if you fail you go back a step....Improving Your Game, From Every Angle: The Snooker Gym
