I am going to have to concentrate on playing matches against myself and now my youngest son is moving into the new home I built him and his mom. He has two tables setup and he is only five minutes away so we will make it a weekly match. This should help.
anyway, glad u have ur son to play against him.
I saw the photo's . that Broom looks realy great.
Thanks for the replay.

Tonight I contemplated whether I should even go down to practice because all I do is get frustrated. After a half hour I put my cue away Brushed, Blocked and Ironed my table and walked away. I have played one best of 5 match where I lost 3-0 to TD in the past month, three games.
Do you think enjoying the game MEANS having Fun and laughing during the game ??

A good idea Les would be to read the entire thread again and take in the good advice that has been given along the way by good players that you have overlooked. Forget about saying it will confuse you even more, we are all adults with fully grown brains and should be able to sort the wheat from the chaff that's going to help improve your game.
What did you do tonight for half an hour that made you put your cue away? Your motto is practice to improve not waste time. Before getting good at this game you have to have fun to be able to learn all the shots, they are not gonna appear in your game playing a tough frame against yourself.
Sorry if that isn't what you want to hear Les. If you prefer a wooly answer get your pockets widened again.

Just do the 51 clearance drill. That's all you need to gauge yourself. Also its nowhere near as laborious as the lineups, giving you clear and instant feedback! It can be found on pottr's page.
It is a very good drill in my opinion. I do it every chance I get. Just to check I'm still in tune.Cheap and Cheerful! 😄

At a guess I think it might be three reds and the colours Les, that would be 51. My old playing partner ,that's all he practiced, threw three reds on the table in the open ,cleared it, its the only thing I saw him do practice wise. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
