Your mission this week, should you choose to accept it, is to make a break with the balls set up as shown. But here are the rules: every time you pot a red, you must replace the red back to it's original position. So you keep on potting reds and blacks making the biggest break you can. However, you CANNOT play the same red twice in a row. You start with the white ball wherever you like.
With your confidence sky high at the moment, I look forward to seeing and hearing about your results with this one, Les, and also, anybody else that enjoys having a go at these routines.
If you get really confident, you could try scoring 120 points with reds and blacks, going up for the yellow from the final black and making a maximum.

Ted one quick question. Do we replace the red as soon as we make it or can we replace it after we make the Black. I just ran 7 Blacks. I hope to get a video up today at some point. I have my son coming tonight for a 3-5 match." Practice to improve not just to waste time "

Here is my first attempt with cam running. Not even sure how many I made. I figure I might as well set a level somewhere. Bad cue ball on last red. I guess this is what happens in break building. One mental lapse and you are finished.

dont fancy cutting the black into the middle bags on that routine
my coach used to do something similar to make me work on my concentration - the 4 reds were in a diamond kind of layout inbetween the black and pink spots. No difficult shots was just a pure test of keeping it all going. Think i managed 13 reds as my best effort.
A good routine that Ted#jeSuisMasterBlasterBarryWhite2v1977Luclex(andHisF ictiousTwin)BigSplash!

this can happens to anyone. even pros sometimes runing out of position and are forced to play a recovery shot or put the CB somewhere safe.

Well I'd say it's for both really, using the black cushion and stuns and screws. The only problem is, Les, you could end up avoiding those reds on the cushion because you don't like them. You need to get used to playing those shots, very important in frames. I'd also say for this exercise you can leave the red down until you've potted the black. The point of the exercise is to get you comfortable playing around the black spot area, so in a real frame, as you potted that red it would be out of the way.
If you wanted to vary it to make it harder to break build, you could say as you pot each red you leave it down, until all 4 are potted and then replace them. That's a bit advanced though, so for now, just pot each red, leave it down while you pot the black, and then replace it. But you can't play the same red twice in a row.
Good luck.WPBSA Level 2 - 1st4Sport Coach

Well no video today. Obviously the way I had the balls setup yesterday made it much easier. Today the best I managed was three blacks. Yes you are right Ted I need to be able to make those rail shots. I think I better spend the rest of the week making ten reds from both sides of the table then re visit the challenge. I did the same with high Blacks as I could not make more then three before I missed.Last edited by lesedwards; 2 February 2016, 09:31 PM." Practice to improve not just to waste time "

I'd practice the whole exercise, Les. It's all about position and putting the white in a position that makes the next pot easy.WPBSA Level 2 - 1st4Sport Coach
