Most definitely, one of the reasons why I love this country so much. And now to something completely different. Here's to our Canadian friends on here.

I find myself using side for many long or difficult pots as it feels a little bit easier to judge rather then aiming centre oddly. If I have a long bit off straight pot for example, Id use right side (if cutting left) and aim a bit thicker before the pocket to pot it centre pocket. Do a lot of you do this as well and is it a bad habit? I find it really strange that potting with side can sometimes feel easier than aiming centre...maybe because I was a pool player first?
IMO, its not the side thats doing it, its that you feel comfortable doing it, potted a few doing it and it gives you confidence in the long pots. If you knock in 8 out of 10 long pots, well obviously if it was me.. I wouldn't touch a thing!

How did this turn into 'bash the Canadians'? I don't want to get started on tit-for-tat and start bashing the Brits as I could be here all day and I have a match to play at noon.

Just watch a few episodes of 'Spitting Image' to see what I mean. Especially 'Interesting Steve Davis'.

As for side, I don't agree with using it very much and almost never without a cushion involved but sometimes it's necessary to either get around an intervening ball (in the extreme, masse) but I would never use it to try and improve my position with no cushion involved as I think you can get to the same position if your could control stun/screw correctly. 'Helping side' is a load of bollocks

you've met max three times and you've never tuned your balls in that didn't go with a little sweet bride

Nope. That's too cryptic for me. Anyone like to have a stab a what he's trying to say here?

You've had 3 max breaks and you have never had to pot a ball that didn't quite go by using a bit of side to turn it ?
