actually i used to practice at home on a table that is roughly same height as a snooker table. but i used a water bottle instead.

i got the idea from a youtube video of a jap pool player. cant find the video now but this is something similar.

yeah the bottle is a good starter though i would use a plastic one, then move to the matchbox an try to close own the hole to say a 12mm. mix this with cueing straight along the baulk line then youll feel the consistency an be hard to beat

The bridge hand is stationary, or it should be. So it is the grip hand driving the cue. The most common reasons for not cueing straight on delivery are too tight a grip or too loose. Adjust it by one digit on the pinkie (L or R) and see if there is a difference. The other reason for not cueing straight is not opening the hand enough on take-back and closing the hand as it opened on the forward stroke. Closing it more than you opened it leads to a snatch, closing it less leads to slip. But not opening it enough will always lead to a pull. It's a case of experimenting with grip and how you open your hand, making mental notes of what went right and then concreting that action in future through drills.
