The downside for me is that it's easy to overpower shots and the set-up isn't as sweet and easy to execute in the balls as Ronnie's.Last edited by Master Blaster; 16 May 2015, 05:31 PM.

and so --- I would say he has made a few right choices and - apart from the shoes the music and the fashion sense - I cant speak for What Judd's old school mates are doing now but - so far in his life he has been clever enough with his choices - would you not say?
Everything you say makes him clever applies equally or more so to a thousand PL footballers. Are they bright too? Rooney? Gazza?

Hello, Mr Big Shot!
Sorry, I just love that name/line. Anyway, Judd comes across a whole lot different to Gazza/Roo wouldn't you say? I thought he was quite funny when Hazel interviewed after playing Ronnie. Forget which tournament it was but it was this season, bloody red wine affecting my memory. Maybe Dean can tell us.

As for Judd - He had the common sense to stick at something he was brilliant at and he followed his dream and succeeded - so yep he is clever enough in my mind - same goes for anyone else that does the same and succeeds in what ever path they choose to walk along - Qualifications count for diddly in the most part I feel its what's inside that ticks the loudest tock for me - plenty of people staking shelves in Tesco's with 2.1's and above but hey if that's the dream who's knocking it.
All depends on what value you put on things I suppose. I guess I see things slightly differently than yourself.

All part of the dumbing down to jiggle those education stats, then the poor saps come out of uni with a degree in social sciences, p1ss poor arithmetic and reading skills and end up in a call centre.
But hey we don't need to learn anything anymore as we have computers, and all knowledge can be accessed with just a few clicks of a mouse.
Trouble is that it just doesn't stick so it's accessed again and again and again.

It seems they can do anything they want and not provide any explanations why we are barred nor how long it's in effect.

Why isn't the Trump technique and Set-up now the Textbook Standard?
In my opinion Trump has a very good technique. One of the best potters in the game. One of the best breakbuilders as even at his young age he is in the list of top century breakers. I also don't understand anyone who says he has no bottle as he has won plenty of tight matches and also played great under pressure even if he hasn't always won. For instance he played a couple of great finals against Ronnie last season and knocked in some big breaks against Bingham with his back against the wall. On the original question isn't Trumps technique text book? Walks into shot, standard stance, cueing arm above head, back pause, finishes at chest. Everyone is slightly different due to body shape but he seems textbook.coaching is not just for the pros

Do we know that Judd goes to bed late, doesn't practice and has no coaching? Or is this just people assuming? From what i hear he does work hard and had a good season for it.coaching is not just for the pros

well not exactly textbook to move on shot like he does Gav - his flicky wrist action stance and timing is as unique as his shoes to him.
For all the coaches out there - show me any two pro players that are identical?
Certain things are the same - however -
I believe you can practice with what some may think is a flaw and make it work for you in your game if you make it a natural part of your game. It ain't all about technique - we are all unique - I think its more about going with what you have and doing it to breed consistency - and adding that mental strength I think.
