    3 reds, 3 blacks

Here are the two variants that were set.

Videos are unedited so forgive the whistling and minor tantrum when the side didn't take off my cushion

    Enjoy

Like shelling peas. You make it look so easy man. Never seen someone practice with 3 reds on 3 diff cushions before. Love the way u hit the white. So positive.

Right foot pointing out and shoulder movement? Slightly sloping forearm and elbow drop? Dell Hill?

Be interested to know what the size of the pockets are at the fall. There were some shots that certainly wouldn't have gone in on my match table. Lovely room you got there. Can't understand why you haven't got an electronic score board! I think it'd finish your room off perfectly. Just my opinion

              Never had any coaching...

My table's tighter than average but not as tight as it was... pocket size barely matters in truth

Of course pocket size matters. Anyone can pot on a table with buckets. Different ball game on a table with match pockets cut to 3 & 3/8". That's the same pocket opening as a TV table. Trust me. That's very tight. I've seen so many players play on buckets & then come & play on our match tables & they really struggle to even pot a few balls because they realise they ain't as good as they think they are. Proper cut match pockets, steel blocks, 6811 No. 10 / Tournament Gold cloth, 1G balls & pro lighting makes a huge difference.

^Agreed. Pottr, I know you are a good player but I wouldn't recommend anyone plays like this. Shoulder and upper arm shouldn't play a part, only the fingers directing the cue. And your forearm should not be sloping over, it should be upright. These two facets occur because of your back position and stance. First pot missed, break 0 not 51. As for elbow drop, hmmm, that's a 50/50 for me. You're hitting the OB to the left knuckle (first red and first black). But some great rhythm here, which is something we all aim for. This technique is nice in the balls, like a pool player in a way. But for long potting accuracy, it has to be foot in line for me. Ronnie suffers on some long pots and he's foot pointing out as well. JT and BR are foot in line.

                      Jesus boys... Condescend much? x

My table isn't as tight as a Star... But it used to be... And I've toned up on the Stars against main tour professionals in practice, so I feel I can put my point across...

How many times have I come on here and said that very thing?

I had my pockets made a touch bigger so that I could teach Luke. But they're still not bigger than a club table and looking back there was only two balls I hit which wouldn't have dropped on a Star... Black for last red and black on first for yellow on the second...

My balls are 1G. Cloth is no. 10 btw. Not steel blocked though... But pro style lighting and table heating rads.

When I say pocket size matters little, I mean after an hour or so of play, everything's oiled and they all go in the middle anyway... You literally see me finish the routines with zero warm up in under 15 minutes... Of course things aren't focused yet... Not to mention I barely practice these days.

Foot pointing out... I used to be online... 3 separate ACL reconstructions on that knee following a horrific leg break will do that to you...

As for the shoulder and forearm... I've made two maximum breaks... Won every competition in the local league's I've entered... More tons than I can remember, including back to back in a match and three in a row in practice thrice... I feel my performance justifies my technique...

I like how I hit the ball... I was a pretty dangerous pool player but since they changed to pro cups, I can't adapt.

Hi Pottr. Thanks for the videos as promised. Very good demonstration of what i asked for. did you find it useful? I neglected to mention though that the 2nd drill is played with the cueball halfway across the baulkline between green or yellow and side cushion so that a stun can be played. nevertheless your slow roll tests straight cueing.

Take no notice of the keyboard warriors on here. As their videos still haven't uploaded...Furthermore...speaking about pockets, the Tables at Longton Snooker Club in Stoke are the tightest in the uk! Thats my opninion. If anyone disagrees with me they are welcome to come and play me on them. (although my last invitation on HERE only got two replies) pmsl!!!
You are also correct about the size of pockets not being critical. Although i much prefer to play on tight pockets as they are an immediate indication of how well your positional play is.

Here's another challenge! POT RED FROM BREAK OFF AND COMPILE BREAK!

Cueball is as close as possible to either green or yellow.
Green with left hand side, Yellow with right hand side.
Hitting the 2nd red down with enough pace to return to baulk.
Green side produces a red into right corner, Yellow to left corner.
My highest break currently from the break is 48!

                          Good Luck!
