when my mates and I play it could be anyone racking the reds, we do not define that the non-breaker must rack the reds or anything like that; I presume that if a player was wanting to do this type of break they would wander nonchalantly up the table to rack the reds, then stroll down the table, pick up their cue, and proceed to break off and pot the red.... :biggrin:Up the TSF! :snooker:

Who ever is breaking, when we play ,normally spots from the yellow to blue as they tend to be at the baulk end, getting ready for their fancy break lol,the other person does reds, pink and black. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

it is just something never thought about for all these years, now thinking about it, as you say the next breaker is usually at the baulk end
Strange though, when playing pool it has always been the non-breaker to rack the balls - weird eh?

I did this today, pulled it off. But it depends (for me) on an illegal rack, one where there is a decent gap between pink and reds, so I can hit some 1st red, even a smidge and the second red at the same time, which then produces the squeeze shot to push the 15th red to the pocket. When the reds are tight up to the pink (as the rules say) only a couple of mm of the first red are sticking out so it's very difficult to avoid fouling the pink. Maybe others do it differently? I think Simon is doing it differently. In the video the pack doesn't look parallel to the top cushion, so there's more chance of the red going in. But maybe that's perspective?Last edited by barrywhite; 24 December 2015, 03:46 PM.

Markz, did Ronnie use this break years back to really open them up or was it the third ball he used to hit? [note; no attempt to turn this into a Ronnie discussion and go off topic, all rights reserved]Last edited by barrywhite; 24 December 2015, 07:17 PM.
