How come people are being banned but others are getting away with abuse like the above?
Talk about double standards Ferret you should be nipping this straight in the bud before this place just becomes a total joke

well can think of one player that does feather on the way in - Smurphy - and he ain't so bad.

Like you rightly say though Gav - Players have there own quirks and if it works it works

Thanks for your thoughts Nic. I'm sure Del Hill says you shouldn't slide the bridge in so you do differ there. Personally I think whatever works is good but i do think the tip should be still at the cue ball before starting the feathers rather than feathering on the way in.

i always slide my bridge hand into the shot , not something i consciously do but have always done it, it just feels right.

i'm not playing good enough to say it helps or doesn't , iv'e always played that way

Well, you just slide into the shot until your weight is correctly distributed and you feel comfortable in your stance. You wouldn't want to try and just get down absolutely perfectly and place your hand directly on the table without sliding in. At least I wouldn't. You need to stay on the correctly line, whilst sliding in and getting PERFECTLY comfortable on the shot.

The first thing is sliding the hand in - which every pro does to some degree.
Only club players hover their hand above the table and plant it directly into the final position - sliding makes it more fluid and precise to get down and approach on the line of aim as it forces the bridge hand to get on the line of aim early.

Then there is a choice of two options when getting down to the shot - doing it that way like Shaun Murphy or stopping then cueing like Judd Trump.
Right handed, I keep my sense of rhythm by doing it that way.
Left handed, I have to do it the Trump way to give a sense of confidence that my aiming is ok.

Haha, plant your hand if you're a beginner, do the slide when you're more advanced. Hinge when you're a beginner, try elbow drop when you're advanced.

I'm so glad to hear the answer coming from Nic himself, Thank you Nic for the answer!

I'll try to add the slide to my game, and see if it helps me to get down with more precision.
