When you play the stun shot, or the screw or the top spin with pace, listen or get someone to listen for............................................
Le Clic. It is a high pitched click, a very clean contact between balls. This is the sound of cueing well and hitting the ball correctly.

When you play the plain ball shot or the dead drop, listen again; there should be as little noise on contact as possible. This is the right sound from the right cueing.

If you don't hear these sounds, you're not cueing as well as you could.

LISTEN.

That's really interesting thanks. I went to see the Snooker Legends tour at Reading last year and I made a comment to a few folk afterwards (who thought i was talking bollox was usual) that the sound made by the balls when Ronnie was striking them was different to the sound made when other players were playing. I was two rows from the front so could hear quite well and it was very obvious
