the very worst thing that could happen is that you waste £20 and a hour of your time... you def sound as though you know what you're doing so you'd sniff a 'bad coach' out straight away.

He/she may spot a little technical flaw that could be holding you back. It's worth giving it a go.

That's what I thought, he's hitting them quite firm. On the table I play on at that pace I would end up other the middle of the table .

Am I alone in preferring a more traditional (read heavier, slower, with a substantial nap) cloth, at least for practice? I like to see dribbled shots drift off, and I like to have to really rap the balls into the pockets, both for this, and to get decent position. I feel it helps my timing.

It feels bloody lovely when you move to a faster table, and can just float the white ball around. A bit like going from practice on a snooker table, to playing on a pool table...but not as much.

Playing in mud can be frustrating to start with, but it really helped me start to find my timing when moving to a tip with a bigger cue. Initially I would hit shots, and nothing much happened. Now I hit shots, and stuff happens. That need to time it is accentuated on a slower cloth, or at least it seems to be for me. Practice there makes me feel like I have more control. Don't get me wrong, it's hard work, but it does seem to pay off.

The faster the better for me... playing on an ironed #10 with heaters and steel blocks makes cueing a dream.. imho of course. Downside is when you play a league match at an away club with an Axminster carpet cloth you're pretty much easy prey..

Long grass for me with lots of nap, love drifting those ball in the middle from acute angles.

When we play away I find it easier to adapt to a faster cloth with little nap than the other way round.....it's only certain shots you have to hit harder, still roll a lot of shots in even though a few drift over the length of the table 9just gotta know which way and how much!).

the worst thing is that they listen to a keyboard coach who pretty much pontificates total bullocks as gospel and and takes it on board and destroys their game, while the internet coach sits at home thinking they're amazing. Job well done.

Thanks, I'm really enjoying these, I have been playing the shots you played in the other videos in the club and shall be doing these ones as well, good way to learn how the cue ball works and how to map the table IMO .
Just thought of something, when you set up the White position is this just done from eye so to speak, it doesn't have a line like the high one, level with the pink then diagonally down.

J6, fantastic. Really like your little videos. I understand where to hit the cue ball to get the position but how do you make the Black. That's my problem....LOL If I hit it a touch hard and it does not go dead center it does not go in. By far the toughest shot on my table.
