We all use different methods and I know I don't use the 1/2 ball 1/4 method

3/4 pink
I also have never used the 3/4 or 1/2 ball in my matches. but since the black ball video and this pink vid I have added these to my practice routines to help gain confidence of these ball in matches.
And results in matches seems to give credence to these routines
(hence me asking for the blue video )Up the TSF! :snooker:

Most of you are aware of the fact that I am a grey haired old whatsit who is doing his utmost to improve his game. I like to think that I have a bit of Judd trump in me (lol) with some of my shots. I ALWAYS play for position, rather than just rolling a red in and hoping that I can see a colour to have a go at. I just love potting a baulk colour of its spot and screwing all the way down the table for the next red, watching the curve on the cue ball is really quite exciting. I am still only putting together breaks in the 20 to 30 range but I did have a nice 43 the other day. I also went through the baulk colours and got to the pink which was on its spot, the black was tight on the side cushion halfway between the top cushion and the blue spot and I managed to pot the pink and get the black out into a pottable position and then MISSED IT! Grrrrrrrr!.
Oh! my safety play has also improved enormously too. I just wish that I had taken up this game much earlier in my life.
My comment on the 3/4 pink was made because the 'ghost ball' in the video really does look 'thinner' to me. Perhaps that's why I can't make higher breaks more consistentl. I do tend to miss shots from both ends of the table into the middle pocket very frequently, I always tend to hit the far jaw. I think that this would indicate that I am aiming too full. Would anyone agree?
To give you an idea as to how my mind works when potting. Obviously a full ball shot is centre cue ball to centre object ball, for a 3/4 shot I aim centre cue ball to a point mid-way between centre and extreme edge of the object ball, for a 1/2 ball shot I aim centre cue ball at the extreme edge of the object ball and, for a 1/4 ball shot I aim centre cue ball at an imaginary point approximately half an inch outside of the edge of the object ball. Am I getting that right?
searching the angles for postition is a sign of a nice playier i think and your angle recognition seems to be pretty good
