as much as im showing the path of the cb, it is about the pot, the angle of the shot, and how it relates to the cushion.
so if the maths is wrong its pointless.
and what iv see of the well presented and im sure intended debunking mathamatics so far, its significantly incorrect

but the math is logical and looks so good on paper, that it changes on the playing perceptions of fractions.
time to take the math to the table..

j6, this diagram looks good to me. I know it's only a sketch but those shadow lines for 1/2 and 3/4 ball especially seem to line up pretty will on the pink. I'm interested to hear how you find this on the table.

Ray Reardon's book Classic Snooker, he uses what he calls his 'rectangle theory', where he visualises smaller rectangles within the large rectangle of the table when escaping snookers and plays the cue ball along those lines.
There are many diagrams in the book that explain it.

I use this method and can escape from all sorts of snookers using three or four cushions quite well, although the one cushion escape I find really difficult.

yeah its so obvious when presented with the basic math and diagram, though when stood behind the shot i feel its less so, then when im down on the shot your math is totally wrong, but thats the way im sighting the shot. i see your 3/4 as 7/8 and you see my 3.4 as 5/8, and your right
so all these videos iv deleted on this thread were roughly 2/3, and i view the game in thirds

for me its head down and back to the drawing board with my 3/4 on pink and blue.. have you seen the 3/4 black thread? id be iterested to hear what your triger finger makes of those

These vids are very helpfull . Once the whole series is complete it would be good to bundle them together in one place for easy reference .

yes thoes videos have gone up youtubes hole ricky,
but there will be a new review with far more math involved.
my first learnings of the table were around the black and now im trying to fan that info out with the the help of not just my own eye, but of the maths, the math that obviously encapsulates the table
should be back on the baze within the next few week so.. a couple more cues to get my head down to

I ordered Ray Reardons book and it turned up this morning. From a very quick glimpse it seems that it will be the best snooker book I have bought.

I have read many snooker books and it was this one that I found most informative; doesn't go into any of the minutiae, tells you what works and why, puts you on the right road to experiment for yourself and discover what he says is true.
