miss timing can also throw you off the shot. alignment is also something that crops up from time to time.. but theres nothing like a pipe like cue-action to realy on when other elements are knocking your chins

I was looking through some previous coaching recommendations and saw the tip, it was obviously one I'd forgotten about.

It was really useful for the straight cueing but also for the timing.

The more I think about straight cusing the more I understand that timing is a really important part of it.

I had a similar problem on potting away from the ball, obtuse angle from white to OB to pocket compared to potting acute white to OB to pocket shots. This was due to alignment and placing the cue on a different line to the potting line I'd figured out before getting down. As a result, I was slightly cueing across the true shot line and adding a bit of R hand side. Bingo has a similar problem, hence his successful use of Sight Right. One good test to see is this is 'you're' problem is the classic up and down the table over the spots. Any trace of side indicates alignment as an issue. And if you can't make it go over the spots on a flat bed first attempt, something is very wrong. I solved this issue by adjusting my walk-in and left leg when down. The adjustment to the cueing arm is just mms, nothing major but snooker is fine margins. As a former pro mate says, you can pot all the balls with your eyes and make 147s. He's a wise old bird.
