So you can't provide any evidence of him looking at the cue ball , as I said there are hundreds if not thousands of them showing him looking at the object ball, what does that say to you?
This part of the thread isn't for us, it's not to tell anyone what to do, it is a discussion about whether there is proof positive that pros look at the cue ball as they come through the shot, that's it, it's not advice ,it's not coaching, please don't take it as such, do your own thing.Last edited by itsnoteasy; 4 February 2016, 04:44 PM.This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

I mean, my English is poor (but I can also translate it in Chinese if you want).
What you see in that picture is the position of his head (NOT HIS EYES). Could be someone looking up while his eyes re looking down. which direction you head stance, has nothing to do with your eyes direction . We are talking here about a difference of a few millimeters which goes very fast. you re not able to see that with your eyes. ( You need slowmotion or standing right bhnd the player ).
A pro does'nt move his head, (only his eyes).
I would say, ( as already mentioned ) do'nt think about it . just play the game.
and wish you goodluck with it.

I'm not trying to tell anyone they are right or wrong, I'm just asking for anyone to show me any evidence they have of a pro that is a consistent cue ball watcher as they come through on the shot.
So far all I have seen is two pictures by Ramon that he says one is showing Higgins looking at the cue ball, when clearly neither do, and that the pictures are one second appart ,which they obviously aren't , then he went on to say something about half seconds which I didn't have a clue what he was on about. When I asked him to explain his pictures I never got an answer. catch says he has an app, that goes frame by frame so there should be hundreds of pictures to prove the point, and then Cantpot puts up a video that the first four shots show Ronnie clearly looking at the object ball. My point is I could show you hundreds if not thousands of pictures where any of the players mentioned are looking at the object ball, but I haven't yet seen one where they are looking at the cue ball, doesn't that prove that at worst the vast vast majority of the time they look at the object ball, and maybe on the odd occasion ( which has yet to be proven) they look at the cue ball, to me this makes them object ball lookers.
Most importantly do what ever you want , if you think it's the best way for you.
I'll have another go tomorrow. I couldn't find any examples of Ronnie looking at the object ball in recent competitions but I have definitely seen him do it.
I'll post some links for you to have another look at mate.
But the most important advice for anybody really is that you shouldn't think about it.

Where do you see him looking at the cue ball Cantpot( just so I can look closer to try and see what you are seeing as I could easily be missing it) as he comes forward, point of tip contact, all the time?
Oh and thanksThis is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

This is the second shot from the Ronnie video, it's a frame right on the point of contact ,tip to cue ball, I don't know if what I have done helps but see where you think he is looking.

Your asking for pictures (which don't work for this ) . Instead of asking for pictures , why not just download a free app and see for yourself ?
Wish I hadnt bothered posting about the slow mo app now FFS hahaha .

Ha! Too late lol. I didn't mean it to decend into a coaching topic, I have just always been interested in any evidence for it as its brought up every now and again and I have never seen any for it.
I take it you have an iPad Catch, if you have a frame by frame app take a screen shot of the frames where he's looking at the cue ball as he comes through ,there should be loads of frames even if it's filmed at 25 frames a second it has to be captured on a few of them. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Oh and thanks
Here are direct links to the first few shots, see if you can see it here. It was definitely my video editing that did for the frame rate. Sorry about that, I know nothing about video compression etc.

When I say that it's five times more obvious than this watching it live on the BBC on a TV, I'm not exaggerating.

Don't see why you just don't give it ago yourself for the 5mins it takes to take a vid and scroll through the frames yourselfLast edited by Catch 22; 4 February 2016, 09:20 PM.
