    No harm, no foul.

People who play the race card are about as pathetic as those who run to the hall monitor when they're not getting their own way IMO.
if u talk about me , i did'nt do that.
    I just asked u a question which i got no answer .
I got only your love so far , which is not enough.
you realy need a few hours of sleep to rest a bit.
take my advice and do it.

We snooker players get to know our cues and have to adapt our shot taking account of deflection, can the same be said for the majority of big ball big pocket pool players, even with the deflection most balls will still go in, especially given the shorter distance the ball has to travel. Point made smartly enough for you?
No, of course not. For starters you don't understand american pool. Those 'big pockets' become much smaller when you start to spin the ball, which you must do much more frequently at pool than at snooker. No great big open spaces to aim for. No alternative red to use if you mess up position. You must spin the ball to gain precise position.

The best snooker players master centre ball. The best pool players master spin. As soon as you spin ball, the CB deflects. Big sticks, big balls, big deflection. It then serves, quite a lot. The spin on the ball causes Collison Induced Throw, Spin Induced Throw, Gearing etc, which significantly alters the path of the OB upon contact. Furthermore, spin on the CB transfers to the OB - hit the wrong part of the pocket and it will spin out, even when you think the shot is good. Use spin and you can only use some of the pocket, the pocket gets smaller. The bags are big for a reason, and that reason is spin. Spin affects pool FAR more than snooker, hence why there are more established terms and whole industries thriving from it, but make no mistake, snooker balls deflect, throw and everything else, just on a smaller scale.

I think the best exponents of side spin are Carom (three-cushion billiards) players, amazing skill there

          sheeeeesshhh

Poor old Mr Bluenose... all the guy did was post a couple of scans of Steady Eddie Charlton's book and an international incident occurs

This forum is on its last legs, as you cant have a thread without contention.

If me, Leo and Barry were mods we'd stamp this tomfoolery and horseplay out.

I'm sorry but snooker is finished in this country. Maybe it swam in its own stagnant pool a little too long, eh?

Even without being a mod feel free to get involved wherever you feel the need, sometimes a friendly bit of advice calms things down, altho i doubt it with mr know it all

I imagine that someone might care about pool, in the pool forum. Personally I don't so I don't go there.

I do, however, strongly suspect that many people here understand every aspect of cue ball control to a very high standard. What they don't do is bang on about it to themselves when nobody else is interested.

What you have clearly not found is the search option. All the aspects of behaviour of the balls, that you are pounding to a pulp in this thread, have been discussed here more thoroughly and intelligently prior to your arrival.

Otherwise you just look like a troll. Again.

how can one pass advice to individuals with such diametric opinions?

And Mr Big Shot looks to be sniffing for a tiff...

I'd been looking for a reason to link this, thanks.

Perhaps pertinently to the debate, it wasn't that long ago the snooker world believed it was impossible to transfer spin from the CB to the OB. I wonder what Joe Davis would have made of this?

Spin was on the CB no spin transferred to OB unless I'm watching wrong video.

Lol. Quick call the hall monitor, it's tricky.

If the physics of the game are so entrenched in the DNA of this place, why do i CONSTANTLY see people trip over themselves in trying to explain them?

You may find me some of these threads at your leisure.

Lol. I wasn't referring to you - the Jesus Army leapt in when they started losing the argument, led by Hall Monitor Tricky.

You're going to have to remind me of your question, I've lost track - it's impossible to educate everyone at once.
