I tried clearing the line up keeping the white on the yellow side, didn't do it ,or the ton but got close, a couple of 12 red attempts and a few more ten and eleven , I was very happy with that but it shows how you can get away with things doing the line up compared with having to play on one ball, I'm going to keep at this until I completely clear it, then do it on the green side, which should be easier.
It was quite funny when I looked at the table once I was finished ,all the chalk marks were in the bottom quarter and the green side and top half of the yellow side of the table was completely clean lol.
What was your best score itsnoteasy? Did you get close to the ton. I've always preferred to count rather than just counting the reds. It's got me used to playing and not worrying as the breaks get higher.

    • I count reds Markz, it used to put me off counting so I haven't got a clue what my score has been on any line up clearance, although I do know in myself if I do one with a lot of blacks .
I have spells of trying for maxis and I have done 15 reds 14 blacks once, was quite high on last black and a bit narrow,on yellow side played the White with a trace of left to make sure I went the other side of the pink, rattled it ,left it in the pocket opening and was perfect on the yellow, gutted. Appart from that I have had three 13 reds and blacks attempts and that's as close as I have come.

Yes I sight with my left eye. That's why Cliff told me I have to aim thick on balls cut to the left and thin on balls cut to the right.

Snap with the 15 reds 14 blacks, had terrible angle on last red and worse on last black. Was gutted and not been that close since but I still work on it. I enjoy the counting aspect as when I'm playing a frame I'm more relaxed now when the score starts getting higher otherwise I used to get nervous. I struggle playing frames where my opponent doesn't count, puts me off more than counting now.

J6, love the shot on the brown and including the last pink I found useful. Forgotten the amount of times I've found myself in that position off the last blue from being too high and then put touch of side on the pink by just trying to run through.

Yep me too Les, left handed, left eyed, it's not so much I miss but I'm definitely not happy about where I'm hitting the cue ball, today I really concentrated on making sure I cued up to the centre of the cue ball and I was much better, so there may be something in the putting a bit of side on it accidentally.

Love this routine, I especially always do this if I have someone on a table next to me and free table on the other side.

              I really enjoy your videos.

                  • That was an interesting comment at the end J, that as a right hander your more likely to lose the white on the green side, so as a left hander it will be the yellow side for me, so I take it, it's a common fault and not just me? On the green side it's far easier for me to keep the white in that box up and down the table, I must be flicking little bits of unwanted side on ,on the yellow side.

                      • i find as a right hander its easier playing on the green side of the table, more the natural side. from the yellow side if you come a bit high then you are leaning over and having to lay on the table which I hate.

nice vid though some good pots when you were slightly out of position.

Sorry for kind of dragging this off track but are you right eyed Alabadi? ( I'm just seeing if there is a correlation between what eye is dominant and what side of the table feels more natural to you)

this sounds liike you may have issues with your foot work and balance. a player sould orginise their feet so that the cueing armis always has free movement when down on the shot.
a good example would be my body position when playing the brown on the first essential shots video

So that's you me and Les all left eye dominant find it easier from the green side, hmmmm.
It might not matter when you are good but I may as well ask ,J what eye are you? I'm guessing from your comment on the video you prefer the yellow side of the table, so if I have any chance of this being correct ,you should be right eyed.
