Top bloke is Bradley , always helpful with advice . Had him as a team mate for one season , fantastic to watch and learnt lots from just watching him . Can safely say he learnt from me as well...........how not to play the game !!!!

I do hope Michael makes it as well , another great player . Bangs a 147 in practice ......but that doesn't seem enough these days !
Still trying to pot as many balls as i can !

Some time ago i considered deleting my account due to the poor content and complete rubbish often discussed on here. The other night though it seems that the option to delete an account has been removed! Change the name to TSM TheSnookerMuseum. As snooker is imho wearing very thin and its participation levels are diminishing by the day. I have recently moved counties and this opinion is fairly reflected. It seems that people would much rather Talk the game rather than play it. Even reluctant to learn it the normal way. All this pointless product endorsement is further fuel to my fire. Burn baby burn.....

So the question becomes...why in hell do you even log in? Or better yet, change your password to some random characters and don't write it down and once you forget it you won't be able to log in without an appeal to a moderator.

Not that I disagree with you...lately I have found little of interest in this forum but I log in every day because I'm curious

Apart from Bingo using Sight right, has any pro used a cueing, aiming or sighting device, especially a cueing device?

how about Martin Gould and Rory McLeod - who also endorse SightRight as well as Bingham.

                          I forgot about Gouldy!

So have any of the pros used a cueing device/trainer?

Seen Mr Trigg with a matchbox on the table in his video, fair enough it's for students but pros were students at one time. Didn't Davis get a dunt on the head from his dad with a cue if he lifted his head, that's a training device of sorts lol.
This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

Yeah, the book above the head to stop body movement. Davis is an 'interesting' example. He swore by the long-ball potting line-up across the table for both potting accuracy and great cueing. I remember a very good player telling me when I used to do the long blue routine; now try and pot that blue at dead weight. If you can do that, pot it in off into the same pocket. And then begin screwing the white back into the opposite corner after potting the blue. I can cue a matchbox or ring in front of me really well but even that won't be enough to build the cueing skill to pot something ten feet away. But if any pros have used devices in their formative years or even later years, I'm happy to understand how they helped. Could be useful. I'm just a bit skeptical because I've seen dry-land swimming in lots of sports. But if a pro has improved using a cueing device, I'm ready to try it. I know Methi said it took two years of playing to develop a decent cue action (which I agree with having followed the Methi route) but if there's a short cut for newer players?

Dry land swimming lol, I like that. For me the matchbox teaches you a lot, you can practice your timing ,as you can see when your closing your grip as you cue through the hole, you can feel if your balanced before during and after your shot( I don't think we do this when trying to pot a ball as we are to busy trying to pot the ball) if you have a ten mill tip and a twelve mill hole like the one I use you have to learn to cue level, which means opening your grip ,otherwise you just won't get through it( if you have any type of see sawing going on) this also means keeping the elbow up and still as with the shoulder. Nothing will beat on the table practice obviously but that's a good wee gadget from my point of view and if you can cue through a ball the same way you cue through the matchbox, you will be close to cracking it,I think it's like practice swings at golf we all do those perfectly but address the ball and it can all go pear shaped, but if we could repeat our practice swings ,the worlds our lobster
