That vid is in the past, I haven't got a time machine to go back and reshoot that shot. But needless to say, even if it's just a few degrees of angle you can exaggerate the CB reaction with banana TS. Anyway, why you making requests to folk you don't like? LOL
But I did a pretty straight one on another table today on a really slow cloth and did it plain TS this time and she sails to middle of baulk which shows just how much the CB will deflect off the OB when extreme TS is applied. Extraordinary. But banana is best, deflection is huge. Good tool to keep the CB on the same side of the table she started from if you ask me, which you won't. lolLast edited by Big Splash!; 25 September 2016, 07:13 PM.

Sorry for the poor sound quality. Got to a club. This is an antique billiards table with 3.25" pockets and it's got a slow cloth on it that wasn't ironed, so quite fluffy. I like that because it shows what you can do on a club cloth with the Trump technique. Some players are having problems with club cloths, getting spin on. Maybe the JT technique could be for you? This shot is half a ball or about 5 degrees off straight; the camera lens seems to make angles look larger. Plain TS, no banana but she still deflects to middle baulk with lots of TS.
Not as good as banana though. Just remember to look at the OB fellas.
Lovely block sitting on that table mind.Last edited by Big Splash!; 25 September 2016, 07:28 PM.

That's not a half ball, closer to a 3/4 ball by the looks of it maybe a bit thicker( although camera angles can distort things) looks to me a half ball from there you are hitting around between blue and pink spot. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

@INE, the camera does distort the angle from the rail level. Check the video angle at the start from the upright position and pause it. It's just off straight, about 5 degrees.Last edited by Big Splash!; 25 September 2016, 09:24 PM.

Will be a while before I can try this on a no.10/Star. I think JT could do 3 lengths of the table. He's got immense timing.Last edited by Big Splash!; 25 September 2016, 09:32 PM.

Wally, glad you're annoyed. :biggrin-new:
Folk can freeze the video at the start and see for themselves, they don't need your BIASED opinion. It's 5 degrees off straight. I could do it exactly straight if you like but erm, oh, in-off. Or maybe 1 degree off straight, CB into the knuckles. Oooops. LOL. If folk play the video at slo-mo, you can see the CB deflect to the right after it hits the pink, then arc fwds and that's why it hits middle of baulk not because the shot isn't just off straight. That's what happens on the power; deflection. Everyone knows this! And that's without banana!
Anyway, show us your video of doing the same shot as straight as you like if you're such an expert. Will you even make 6ft of top spin, or even make the pot and pot the black? LOL
I'll take Ted's compliment over your bitterness anyday! He's a top TSF player
Maybe we can do this as a JT set-up challenge and folk can submit their videos? I'd put money on Pottr, Tom and Ted nailing it. Maybe even INMB with this CB sighting?Last edited by Big Splash!; 25 September 2016, 09:54 PM.

I wouldn't call it just off straight thick to 3/4 ball it looks like, but I remember when J6 put up videos if the camera isn't right behind then you can get a false view of the angle, it feels straighter than the first shot though. Are those TCs Splasher? Table looks a cracker, nice cloth and in good condition. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

See the shot you refer to in that vid.. this ball has a slight angle, note how the cue ball travels, this shows exactly how full of it you are..
Case closed. You're full of it! Thanks and goodnight...

*Those balls were TCs. No, they hadn't been cleaned! I could have used me 1Gs but I honestly wouldn't expect much difference. I remember doing similar shots with Premieres and the CB would buck like a mule. lol I take my own balls now, can't be doing with club balls.Last edited by Big Splash!; 25 September 2016, 10:13 PM.

Just shows you can't tell by a wee video , it looks nice to me. We play on a table ( won't say where) my mate played a roll up double baulk shot at the billiards from down near the red spot with the red square on ,on the baulk Cush, it missed by about eight or nine inches it rolled off that far lol. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
