If you're playing someone who you think you can score better than, but they roll you up and beat you, then that's just highlighted a weakness in your own game. Maybe you can score well given 7 or 8 good chances a frame, but that guy won't give you those 8 chances.WPBSA Level 2 - 1st4Sport Coach

That does surprise me Ted, thanks for that, just goes to show you the lads that give me a row for not doing it are probably right, I just can't bring myself to do it, not in knockabout games, as I say I dont mind folk playing them against me in matches as they are legitimate shots. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

I wonder if it's because I play solo 99% of the time, so I don't get match practice sessions so when I do play i just want the balls open and lets see who can pot the most, it's all I enjoy really, even though I'm not normally the one that pots the most. I don't think I have been playing long enough to appreciate the other side of the game , I'm just learning so I just want to pot balls, maybe one day I will take one hiding too many and change my attitude, who knows. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!

If you pick out a good shot to nothing with the reds spread and have no choice but to roll up - you've earned that right for a potential bash amongst the balls. This is how you play darts ,MVG two nines in the same match!
