That's probably where the Mark Allen v Mark Joyce grudge all started lol

Yes. They play them. I play them with all the people I practice with. There is no other way to play. The right shot is the right shot.

If you're playing someone who you think you can score better than, but they roll you up and beat you, then that's just highlighted a weakness in your own game. Maybe you can score well given 7 or 8 good chances a frame, but that guy won't give you those 8 chances.

      • That does surprise me Ted, thanks for that, just goes to show you the lads that give me a row for not doing it are probably right, I just can't bring myself to do it, not in knockabout games, as I say I dont mind folk playing them against me in matches as they are legitimate shots.

I mean, 10 mins before a league game, we get the balls open and get our arms going a bit. But if we have a proper session, we play properly.

          • I wonder if it's because I play solo 99% of the time, so I don't get match practice sessions so when I do play i just want the balls open and lets see who can pot the most, it's all I enjoy really, even though I'm not normally the one that pots the most. I don't think I have been playing long enough to appreciate the other side of the game , I'm just learning so I just want to pot balls, maybe one day I will take one hiding too many and change my attitude, who knows.

while playing i ignore any pain i have . i'm able to block that out and i don't feel that it hinders me much during play. (it catches up with me later when i get home) although i might have developed a stance that alleviates any pain in my left knee i point my left foot slight out.

              • When playing someone in practice it's good to play the same way as in a match.

If you pick out a good shot to nothing with the reds spread and have no choice but to roll up - you've earned that right for a potential bash amongst the balls.

Stick the brown in the middle GG and clear up, you know it makes sense, have a bit of faith you know you can do it

Don't get me wrong, if I can get my hand on the table, then will go for a long blue. Likewise with a brown to middle. But sometimes the roll up is the only option - get left in, then clear up

LOL I thought the long blue was a good idea last night, missed it by miles and my opponent made 30.
