  • A first for Cue Crafty. 🤔

Right, was feeling brave. Never ever filmed myself playing snooker and had no idea how my technique looked. Slightly disappointed but a major positive is to actually see the flaws first hand for the first time. Head moving too much etc etc.....

    Please note:-

Apologies as the video is crap (must do better) and there is more reflection off my spam than the cue ball. Lastly I obviously haven't waited for that special moment where I don't miss anything....

I think the film quality was pretty good, better than you will get on an iPad but you will get the table and surroundings in with the iPad.
I also bought one of these, it's a bit cheap and nasty but it did the job for me as there is a bannister near the the table I play on so I just attached it on there.

A video that shows a forum member missing....don't see many of those!
Difficult to comment on the vid with it being difficult to see see you walk in to the shot etc but yes you lift your head now and again.
Good thing is you're obviously keen enough to want to improve else you wouldn't have made the video so good luck to you!

Thanks for looking Tom. Appreciate its poor footage, but will definitely be having another go with better equipment. Its very useful to actually see what you are doing but also pretty scary that it doesn't look like you expected it to! (In my head I look like Jimmy White! lol )

Its already helped me concentrate on not lifting my head and being as solid as possible in my stance. I've never had a lesson in my life. Everyone should strive to improve, for me personally I'd like to achieve once more what I did when I was 19 and make another Ton. I only started playing again at the start of this year after over 20 years not playing
and instead of moaning about what I could once do I'm trying to get back to it. : )

Top man I hope you achieve your goals. I struggle to find my game after a few months of let alone 20 years!
I've filmed myself a few times over the years to help spot the errors of my ways. I might post a video over the Christmas break.
Not lifting your head might actually help your stance to become more solid. I notice that when i'm at my best I stay down on the shot until the cue ball has come to rest, a bit like a golfer who holds their swing when they've hit a good one!
