McGill and Maguire shared a car down to Sheffield, I wonder if McGill will do that again? : )

they are practise partners, maybe even friends... but I doubt McGill will do that again especially if your first match is against said person

One of the few players who can deal with pressure very well, imo.
With performances like yesterday, he can forget lifting the world trophy!

I will almost guarantee you they won't be sharing one on the way back up
Maguire is a great player, looks a million dollars at the table when in full flow, he really should have done more with what he's got. If he plays Trump in the next round I hope he shows what he can do it could be a cracker.
Personally I don't think McGill is good enough to win the worlds, he may get a quarter or semi if he gets a good draw one year but that's as close as he gets.

Talent wise he's one of the biggest underachievers ever in the game
It's hard to pot balls with a Chimpanzee tea party going on in your head

I agree - probably the biggest are him and Stephen lee and if talent is the context then maybe Ronnie too.

McGill was stitched up the day he agreed to travel with Maguire...

So sharing a car with a friend somehow makes you play terribly? Why didn't it affect Maguire?

Maguire would have put McGill back in the ranks of the qualifiers, with stories of he said she said and how they got lucky...

Instead he should have separated himself from all that because he had earned the right to do so. Stepping up a league is what they call and it's a mental thing. IMO Maguire knew this.

Instead of playing a top 16 pro. He reduced him to his own level. It's smart and is something that only 'experience' can achieve.
