I don't know the area, but have you researched the old boy type con clubs / social clubs etc? I did this where I live and found a constitutional club that had 5 tables in a separate snooker room! Had to pay £40 a year to join but cheap drinks and snooker plus convenience of being minutes away! Worth a look.
