Do you mean the red into the middle? If so, you will NEVER see a pro play that with check side.

Thin cuts at slow pace into middle pockets are the real value of SIT on a snooker table - and where it is most noticeable. Allows you to play it thicker, so holding the white.

Or curving the white into the correct potting point and perhaps cheating the pocket a bit. It could go both ways but I have to admit I use inside side on very thin cuts to the middle pockets. I think it's curve you think it's SIT. Tomatoes/tomahtoes

As an aside (sort of) I watched Ronnie/Carter in the Irish Cup of a few years ago, 5-2 to Ronnie with 5 centuries and one of them a 147 where he was all over the place position-wise. I actually was looking for any shots where he used side to hold the cueball but he was near the cushion so much he really couldn't. Great brown off the cushion for the blue up in baulk. We ll worth watching, on youtube of course.
