The irony is, this is not controversial at all. That a couple of B level players have never heard of something means nothing. TSF is a tiny, insignificant speck on the cue sport playing world; hugely unrepresentative of players around the world.
Snooker has always been a backward, parochial pastime - the very reason it is dying. It needs to reinvent itself by appealing to a broader audience. Top global sports are sliced and diced a million times every day from every conceivable angle - this creates interest and develops internal markets. Stats, technology, personalities, innovation...
The answer to everything in snooker is a curt "just bloody practise". Well, duh!
