Snooker outbuilding

Hi guys,

Something a little different to the usual game play and logistics!!..

I've been interested for some time now in building an outbuilding to accommodate my own full size table.

There are a few obstacles to overcome in doing this since my house does not have a side access, making things slightly more difficult.

I'd just be interested to know if anyone has their own outbuilding, how it was made, what it's made of and whether it cost more than they had expected?

I currently play at a sport's centre which is cheap and convenient, but have always wanted my own table.

The articles seem to be predominantly just pictures or in one case a room based in Canada, but I will look via the search function.

I think the Canadian one gives you a very good breakdown of how to do a timber framed construction showing the building going up from scratch with a concrete pad, it wouldn't be any different over here?

The costs are steep over there in comparison. I've geard of simple timber framed construction over here anywhere from 7k to 15k dependent on how much work you do yourself.

Are you looking at timber framed (e.g. classed as a potable/ temporary construction or brick/breeze block built?

Thanks. Looking at both timber and block options although if I opted for timber I would be purchasing a cabin from a company, as opposed to building it myself.

Like most people doing this, I'm very conscious of costs and need to monitor them carefully.

Personally I thought block outbuildings required planning permission but I may be wrong!
