Does anyone knows what are the pros and cons of using it or maybe used/is using it?

Keeps it loose on the grip, Alex Higgins used to have his forefinger pointed to the ground.

No real pros or cons to this grip. Some people do it naturally, other people don't. It doesn't really matter.

Ronnie uses his ring/middle finger to hold the cue. he leaves the index finger off

I just realized that forward cock, would help when elbow dropping.

To complete the followthough with elbow drop you would have to cock your wrist forward at some point anyway, which ofcource can introduce timing issues.
