  • East Yorkshire Coach

    No bus jokes please.

I'm looking for a snooker coach in my local area of east, or possibly north yorkshire, also a rough guide of what i should expect to pay.

I mainly need to work on my stance, cueing action and concentration, (not much then)

Alternatively, any members in my area that fancy a knockabout and to give me some friendly advice please pm me.

Lots of coaches in your area. Try the www.worldsnooker.com website for official coaches. Also try the www.englishsnooker.co.uk website which might be useful. I think there is a man called Alan Trigg who coaches up in yorkshire but not sure. Hope that helps

      Where exactly do you live?

I live in Yorkshire but in Middlesbrough, although if it isn't too far away i would love to play......i would think i would have to improve firstly though.

1 more thing......are most coaches paid hourly? And does anyone have any prices that coaches have charged them for their time? (just so i can have a price guideline).

          prices

I charge £20 for an hour and that includes the price of the table light. The more well known a coach is the more he usually charges. I have found the average to be about £20-£25 but more well known coaches will charge 30 or 40 pound. It is important to find one you feel comfortable with and get along with. Its often good if you ask around for who people recommend.

Like I said, coaches who have worked with high profile players tend to be the most expensive and Terry has worked with hendry and williams etc. Terry is well known as one of snookers top coaches and has all the years of playing and winning major titles so thats why he is so expensive. I think he only charges £100 or something now. It does vary though, there are some high profile coaches who are quite reasonable and will still coach amateurs and juniors. I got coaching from Garry Bauldrey once and paid £70 for 2 hours coaching and a whole day playing on a professional table. Garry is the coach of Ding Junhui. However be warned that high profile does not always mean they are good as some coaches just work with a high profile player to look good and then they soon part company when things dont work out. Most coaches I have met have been very good and know their stuff and if you look for ones recommended or qualified with the EASB or WPBSA then you cant go far wrong.

                            Thanks for replying.
Unfortunately I don't seem to be able to find a local coach using the links recommended.
Looking for someone to come to my home to coach me and my son.
If you can recommend anyone, would be appreciated.

                            Thanks
