Hi! I am a relative beginner (played about 2 years, once or twice a week, have made a couple of 20 breaks) and have a question. I see there was a similar thread recently but it didn't precisely answer my question. Most books, videos I have looked at recommend the leg under the cue arm should be "straight"' or "braced". I realised in a practice session that I thought I had it straight, but actually I could push it back further (i.e. lock the knee right back as far as it goes). This seemed to help, giving a steadier base for the shot and getting me more forward into the shot, and also seems to bring my arm up to a better higher position. The only thing was, as in the earlier thread, it feels uncomfortable.
So the question is this what is meant by "straight" and "braced"? Really pushing the knee back so it locks? Just want to know before I go through the pain of trying this technique for a few weeks in the hope my body will get used to it.
