    longbomber:

Doggystylen has a good point...are you thinking two shots ahead, i.e. - what position off this red on the colour do I need to move to THAT SPECIFIC next red (you can always change your mind if it doesn't work out).

Also, Nic Barrow at 'thesnookergym.com' has a new coaching book and videos out called 'HTMA100' or in other words "How To Make A 100 break" and it might be worth your while to invest in that coaching and training guide as he takes you through all the steps necessary to reach the 100-break level.

to be honest, this is the hardest part of the game for me. And i think this is where the concentration becomes a big part of it. When I'm playing Its easy to figure out your next shot for the first few pots, but then for some reason i go brain dead, don't want to keep the other player waiting while i assess each shot for 2 minutes. I'm naturally a quick player, and i think my game would drastically improve if there was a rule in place where we had to take a min of 2 mins per shot...I consider myself a better than average potter, but my game is lacking in the breakbuilding and position play which of course are one of the same and makes the difference between winning and losing matchs. If you can play good position, every pot is going to be easier.

i made my first lineup century last week (WOO!), which obviously shows im a decent potter of the ball however i rarely get a large break, generally just high 20s to mid 30s. Im convinced it's down to my break building and i need to do something about it but nothing i have come across is really helping much. At the moment when i play a pot, i think about the angle i want on the next ball (so basically 2 shots ahead), but something is definitely not right. HELP!

it may be in your approach before you get down on the table. I'm no coach but you said you think about the angles when you play a pot. This should be thought of before you address the shot while your standing.

What has helped me as well, is to walk around the table or wherever your next shot is going to be and where you want the white ball to be and view the next shot before it is played so you can see your next shot. You may naturally go there when not thinking of the shot too much.

But really it could be anything your doing. Maybe ask yourself why the break is ending at 20 or 30 points all the time?
