I agree with everyone on the forum who says 'who gives a sh*t which cue a pro uses'!! What difference does it make? Most pros who I have met could play wonderful snooker with an old broomhandle with a decent tip on it! They actually use cues that they get used to and become extensions of their arm.
John Parris is a really nice, helpful guy who has been making cues to an extremely high standard for almost 25 years. He made me a handmade cue back in 1985 and was a pleasure to deal with then and he hasn't changed at all, he still takes time to talk to his customers directly. For anyone who pays for a handmade cue from John (Special, Paragon or Ultimate) they will not be disapointed, John even guarantees that if they are not happy he willl change or remake the cue.

I have just received my Ultimate 1234 (good number) from JP 3 days ago, i have to say that i'm REALLY REALLY happy with the cue, it's made to EXACTLY what I wanted. i have been using 2 barracuda gold medal cues for the past 2 years, neither of these is near my new cue in terms of quality and the feel. although I havent made a big break with my new cue yet, but after 2 days practise I sensed that I can play much better than before.
the only thing that I disappointed with is that the delivery took much longer than 16 - 18 weeks(agreed initially). I ordered in may 02, only recv in dec 02.
and service is very average - sent quite a few emails asking about the delivery time and asked if any updated photo of the cue can be sent - none of them is replied. I had to call up eventually.
However overall, it worths the wait if you dont mind waiting!
i m going to practise again tonight.....

Are you saying that John Parris does not make cues himself but a team he employs does? He does have a team of makers, who make the majority of the cues under his name and guidance and scrutiny but I am sure that every now and then he will get his hands dirty :-)
