STOKE potter Brandon Sargeant is now the highest ranked under-21 amateur snooker player in England.
The 17-year-old has taken over top spot on the EASB Premier Junior Tour after securing his second tournament win of the season.
Following his success in the second leg in Bilston, West Midlands, Sargeant beat Plymouth’s Haydon Pinhey 4-3 in the final of the fifth event at Jesters Snooker Club, Swindon.
A total of 38 breaks of 50 or more were recorded during the two-day tournament. Luke Garland (Dudley), in his final season on the country’s elite under-21 circuit, produced a 122 in the group stages and 110 against Sam Betts (Norwich) in the last-16. Will Lemons (Sheffield) made a 105 in the groups.
The sixth and final leg is at the Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds, on the weekend of June 20-21.
