SNOOKER players aged 40 and over from across the South are busy honing their skills in preparation for the inaugural Cuestars South of England Senior Championship.
The more ‘experienced’ Cuestars members will descend on Salisbury Snooker Club at 10.30am on Sunday, February 28.
Prize money, subject to 24 entries, is £100 and a trophy for the winner, £50 for the runner-up and £25 for both losing semi-finalists.
The format will be round-robin. Group winners and runners-up will qualify for the knockout.
Players must have been aged 40 or over on September 1, 2009. Cuestars membership can be paid for on the day of the tournament.
Entry fee is £15. All tables used for matches are free of charge.
Cuestars director John Hunter vowed that if the event is successful he will run a senior tour next season.
