  • Why is Cuestars director John Hunter so excited?

NO WONDER Cuestars director John Hunter is “excited” ahead of the new season which kicks off in four weeks.

By last Thursday, a staggering 80 players had submitted their memberships.

Cuestars will run 23 events during the 2013/14 campaign.

Lads making their Cuestars debuts will join up with battle-hardened veterans when the eight-leg Under-21 Gold, Silver and Bronze Tours begin at Salisbury, on October 6. The top-16 ranked players at the end of the season will be invited to the championship play-off at Jesters, Swindon, at the end of May.

The Championship Tour, which is open to any Cuestars member, has been extended to seven tournaments starting in Swindon on October 13. But there will no longer be a championship play-off.

And the Seniors (40+) will also compete over seven tournaments, the first at Chandlers Ford on October 27. Again, there will no longer be a championship play-off.

The new season will be the fifth since handicaps were abolished. A 13-year-old Jordan Winbourne (Gold), Lee Bell (Silver) and Ryan Gavin (Bronze) were the first winners under the new format at Salisbury on October 4, 2009. A week later, Matt Wilson claimed the first Championship Tour event in Swindon. The Seniors Tour wasn’t introduced until the following season.

See cuestars.co.uk for more information, membership form and calendar.

Really like the Qstarts events. If you fancy yourself as a snooker player and your in the manna then, you gotta get on-it, and try and win these things. No time to loose..

      Is the website down?

I tried the website a few months back and thought they must have stopped these tournaments because it didn't work.

The website address has changed to cuestars.co.uk. Cuestars has been running for nigh on 20 years. No, it hasn't stopped.
