thanks , tbh he has never complains about the box although he would rarther not have to use it , I'm in the process of building a snooker room which should be finnished by end if feb , and in going to build a stage kind of thing around the table so he will not need the crate to practice he can not wait!

I saw a video ages ago where they had made a "stage" around the table for a youngster to be able to play without a crate
What I wanted to mention was that they made it in sections with little clips to hold it in place but also easily removed.
Maybe something you have already thought of?

Good idea - might be hard for other adults to play with him though?

Might come and give him a knock - would not mind being 6 foot 5 around the table for a day

The best things I ever saw for an undersized youngster was once in Pontins where his father had made some small double stilts for him which were adjustable as he grew. He had velcro straps to hold his normal shoes and the height was only about 1ft or so and could be adjusted downwards to around 6" or so. They were shaped like a pair of scissors.

With a stage an adult couldn't play unless it were moved for each shot but with these stilts the kid was able to play on any table with adults.

Yes the stage will be done in sections so it can be removed and stacked so I can have a knock !

As for stilts good idea but dont think me lad will like the idea and maybe a little dangerous .

Also I'm looking at buying a star table for the room cheap as poss !any one know of the going price for a second hand star ?
