Hello all snooker lovers. This is my first post and want to say hello to all. I played a lot of snooker when I was in my late teens and twenties. I used to play decent and really enjoyed the game. I used to play Greg Maine all the time in Langley. It was the best place for snooker back then. Greg the owner, not Greg Maine, had a good game as well, but Maine was special. Never took a set off of him. Greg the owner, had 4 beautiful 6x12 tables in a small hall on the north side of Fraser Highway. That is where my love for the game started. Greg the owner sold the hall and it never opened up again as a pool hall. Eventually another place or two opened and closed and my snooker was off and on. During that time I had Tom Gauthier and Kevin De roo make me hand made snooker cues. Made from ash and ebony. I still have both and they are beautiful to this day. Now in my sixties my juices are flowing again. I am retired and looking for some fun on the tables again. Hopefully some one near by reads this and feels like playing a rusty old dog. I used to have runs in the sixties and once in a while hit 90. Those were the days. Not sure who remembers Greg Maine though. That guy was brilliant. You could not leave him a shot. I watched him with envy. Most of the time I was spotting balls for him. Hopefully he's on this site. Would love to hear from you! Glad to tell my story to those that remember and hope to hear from players from the past.
    Best Regards
    Randy

    Welcome to the forum!

Tom Gauthier's grandson posted on here last week and is looking for one of his grand father's cues to keep in the family.
