Help please! Table to ball size ratio.

Hello all. I am new to the forum (today!) and have recently purchased an 8x4 snooker table. I was recommended to use 2” balls but wondered if these maybe a bit small and whether I could ‘squeeze’ 2”1/16 without crowding the table. I am using 10 reds. Having graduated from a smaller American Pool table where I used the 2” they now seem a bit small and too easy to pot in the bigger pockets! I would be very grateful for any advice and pointers in the right direction. Thank you.

I'm no expert here. If I were in your situation, I would go with the full sized snooker balls. That way you could use them on the 12×6 table too.

Well if you can't borrow a set and try them ( which obviously seems the best idea) maybe try buying a second hand set on eBay or if even that seems risky maybe a 3 ball billiard set at full size so you can see how they play.
