  • Hi guys and gals

Just thought I would post and say hi just bought a snooker table last night and dismantled on site ( that slate weighs a tonne😂) and am going to pick it up next weekend.
was hoping someone could advise the best way to transport the slate flat on top of each other or on end ??

    Cheers Raj

End to end ,strapped up on the side ,make sure the joint areas where the slates come together are facing up ,you don’t want any chips or nicks on them as that is what joins the table together ,so it needs to be as good and clean as possible .Storing or transporting slates on top of each other can cause warping (dishing ) even for a short time .

Thanks very much for the info.
also I will get some pics and find out the details the table is about 34 years old has only been played on a handful of times as it was Installed in a house for a wealth family in the north of Scotland, it has had the cover on it for years will load some pics.

Was really surprised how easy it was to strip down. I am sure.putting it together will be a bit more tasking 😭.

If you’ve not levelled a table and fitted a cloth then it’s best to get a professional fitter in ,putting up the frame and sliding the slates on is not bad ,the rest you really need to know what your doing .

Have leveled a few pool tables was going to invest in a engineers level and give it bash but was deffo going to get someone professional to recover it. I have taken the cloth off in one piece and have rolled it on a cardboard roll.

this is a method to upload images; vBulletin attachments is naff

How to add images to your TSF posts
You can use a free image-sharing site such as ImgBB, without registering (you can register for free), to upload your images, you may have to do the “not a robot” checks quickly. There are other image sharing sites as well.
                        ImgBB.com
                        Click on "Start Uploading"
Browse to the file and select it, click Open
Auto delete image - leave as "Don't autodelete".
                        Click "Upload".

Change "Embed Codes" to "BBCode full linked".

Hover over the code in the box, a "COPY" will appear, click this.
Go to your TSF post and paste.
You can repeat for multiple images in a single post.
                        Up the TSF! :snooker:
