  • Hello! New here, look forward to being here often

Hello. I'm Michael, from Texas. Everything is bigger here, they say, but not the pool tables when compared to real snooker. But after watching it for several years on the YooToobz, it is by far the most popular pool game to watch as a spectator. Ironically, every time I watch a good match and go to my local Texas waterin' hole, I always do better it seems. Ironically, I've never played snooker on a real table, but I've invented a version for a conventional 9 x 4.5 table using existing standard 15-ball numbered rack and non-destructive felt spots (no D, just existing balkline). I'll be releasing my rules shortly (of course, I call it "Texas Snooker"), and hopefully introduce the concept of snooker to many in the US so that they may appreciate the strategies and intricacies of the real deal across the pond.

    Michael welcome to TSF

Here is a site that a member use to maintain, showing where they had found a snooker table in the US (and Canada).
    Maybe one is near you?

No, they leave too many burn marks on the felt. They'll stay on the wall. We only have a couple hundred circulating on the block, a relatively gun-free zone.

I'm aware of that site, and it's more or less correct. There are more 12 x 6's in the Crucible than in the entire state of Texas, which is five times bigger than England.
