Hi All, I’m 54, played the game of snooker since I was 13 and no doubt share the love and frustration that we all have. Be great to hear from anyone about this incredible game

Hi gents, I play on my own table which I got last year, had a bit of coaching and it is scary how many bad habits I had picked up. Working on technique now but lacking reasonable competition - either I win easily against the less enthusiastic players or I got battered in a couple of comps. Definitely a case a starting again for me. I live in Derbyshire, highest break 79 but 40’s a bit more regular.

Hi Des,
Welcome to the forum .
Finding regular practice partners was the most frustrating thing for me ( apart from playing crap that is) when I came back to the game a while back after a long break.
Even though you have your own table I would still look to play in clubs . It will get you used to playing in different environments outside your perfect home set up etc.
Try doing a search for local leagues in your area . It’s a great way to met new players and hone your competitive game. I’ve started playing in my local league and had forgotten how enjoyable it was since the last time I played in them ( 35 years ago ) . The social element is great as well .
Good luck 👍
